What ever happened to the old saying, “first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage?” With the onslaught of celebrity pregnancy announcements lately, I couldn’t help but notice just how many of them are not married. Do celebrities know how to use birth control? Here’s the rundown:
Natalie Portman: not married, engagement announcement came out the same day as pregnancy.
Marian Cottilard: not married.
Kate Hudson: not married.
Victoria Beckham: Whoo-hoo, she’s married!
Devon Aoki: not married, engagement announcement came out the same day as pregnancy.
Tia Mowry: Yay! She’s married.
Jane Krakowski: nope, not married… oh, but she’s engaged though.
Selma Blair: again, not married.
Jewel: married. so excited for her and hubby , Ty.
Kim Zolciak: after experiencing being a lesbian, she is now expecting with boyfriend, Kroy Bierman.
We’ll, add a guy in here… Owen Wilson: not married. Who even knew he had a girlfriend?
So there you have it, 3 out of 11 are married. Granted, I firmly believe that babies are a blessing, but come on folks. What is this teaching the younger generation? With the popularity of the MTV hit, 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, teenagers are seeing getting pregnant as the trendy thing to do. The “subjects” of that show are on covers of magazines and raking in the cash. In her latest court appearance, Teen Mom star, Amber Portwood admitted she made $280,000 last year… all from being on that show!
Celebrities need to realize they are role models to their younger fans and start acting a little more responsible… starting with birth control.

On the show, Gwyneth Paltrow played a Spanish teacher whose classroom lesson included the following: “Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?” And, Gwyneth quizzed the class in Spanish, “How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?”
Sources say Lohan’s family thought it was tasteless.
Mommy Dina Lohan said, “Our lawyers are sending a letter to ‘Glee.’” Of course you are…

So, does anyone else find it a little too “coincidental” that Jessica Simpson got engaged just days after her ex, Nick Lachey proposed to Vanessa Minnillo? Jessica and new fiancé, Eric Johnson, have been together for 5 ½ months, while Nick and Vanessa have been together for 4 years.
Now, I of all people can’t judge an engagement after such a short period of time… I was engaged to my hubby after 3 ½ months. But, a few major differences stick out. One, neither of us had ever been married. Two, I was not jumping from relationship to relationship, proclaiming to everyone that this one was “the one”. Three, my significant other was not separated (hadn’t even filed for divorce) at the time we met.
According to US Weekly, a source close to Ms. Simpson says many of her friends don’t trust Johnson. He “was never that successful in the NFL, but he’s always wanted the celebrity-lifestyle,” they said. “I believe that Jessica is his way to get famous. He’s using her.” Adds a second insider, “Eric doesn’t have a job, he just follows her around. Her friends do not trust him.”
Jessica seems to be brushing off other people’s opinions of her new fiancé, gushing “He definitely makes me happy and makes me very comfortable being who I am,” she said. “It’s nice to be with somebody who praises you for all the right reasons.”
Her family has publically stated “how happy she is” and that “Eric is a great guy that makes her happy.” I’m pretty sure Papa Joe is just excited to see his girl getting a little more press as of late. Wonder how much he’ll try to sell the wedding pics for? One thing is for sure, I’m sure dear ol’ dad will make Eric sign a pre-nup!
As for the rings, let’s just say I’m digging Vanessa’s 4-carat asscher cut bauble quite a bit more than the ruby and diamond ring Jessica has been sporting. I’m quite surprised Jess’s isn’t a little larger… considering she probably had to buy it!
Wonder who the first one will be to hear the pitter-patter of little feet?

Yes, you read correctly… little miss Suri Cruise is getting a $6,000 princess costume for trick-or-treating this year!
According to the latest issue of In Touch Weekly, “It’s more than a month away, but Suri already has her fairy-princess gown and will be wearing diamonds with her costume.” Diamonds, seriously? The little Scientology princesses Halloween costume is more expensive than my engagement ring!
Now, I get Halloween is a very important “holiday” when you are a child, but a $6,000 costume is a bit insane. Katie, Tom… yes, we all know you have more money than you know what to do with, but this is a little excessive. Especially knowing she’ll wear it on Halloween night and a few days afterward, till she gets bored and will move onto the next overpriced item in her massive walk-in closet.
We have all caught onto the fact Mr. and Mrs. Cruise already thinks their little angel is a princess, now everyone in their neighborhood is going to see it firsthand. Let’s just hope she gets some good candy out of the deal… we’re not talking about fun size candy bars here.
Oh, and a little tip for whichever nanny or bodyguard that’s taking her trick-or-treating that night… might want to stay in that posh little Malibu neighborhood where $6,000 isn’t a lot of money.

Well, it looks like Jon Gosselin has handed over the “crazy reins” of reality TV dad to TLC’s Raising Sextuplets star, Bryan Masche. Recently, Masche was arrested for domestic violence against his wife, while all six kids watched. As if that wasn’t bad enough, take a look at his smug, smiling mug shot on the left. Makes me ill…
The fight started because he wanted to take the children to Lake Havasu, while his wife, Jenne, wanted to drive them to Phoenix to visit friends (at the time, there were about 90 miles away from Phoenix). Totally a reason for domestic violence, right?
Masche was taken into custody, but only after he had to be threatened with a Taser when he refused to be handcuffed. He repeatedly argued his rights were being violated and at one point said he had “law enforcement experience and that domestic violence had not occurred,” an officer wrote in the report. He eventually was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and threatening domestic profanities.
Bryan was later released on $3,500 bail and is due back in court Oct. 7 for a pretrial conference, where he’s expected to answer to domestic abuse and resisting arrest charges
Now, I’m sure there are many pressures of raising six children, but get your emotions in check, Mr. Masche―you have six children that you are supposed to be a role model for. Bryan and his wife have even (publicly) said their six-year long marriage hasn’t been without its own hardships… so maybe that should have been their first sign that they shouldn’t do a reality show. From the looks of it, fame and money were more important to them than stability for their children and their own relationship. I expect this marriage to end in bust as well. Sorry, Bryan and Jenne… I call it how I see it.
