Bumming around on Twitter one day at lunch, I came across www.petitvogue.com and immediately was hooked! A place where parents can come together and share their kids’ styles—whether they’re trying to be fashionable, one-of-a-kind, or simply just cute—Petit Vogue was unlike any other website I had visited.
The concept of www.petitvogue.com, comes straight from the founder, Ian Wilson: “With so many people posting cute photos of their kids’ styles on blogs, flickr, facebook, etc they were all scattered, shared with the world, but not in any easily searchable form. So we created the initial concept of petit vogue. We hope that it will become a place by fashion conscious parents for fashion conscious parents—where we can all come together and share their love for fashion in all of its forms: cute, fun, elegant, punk, dainty, etc.”
In addition to the little tyke fashion community, Petit Vogue also has a frequently updated blog. In it, you will find the latest children’s styles, read fashion buzz and register to win all of their cool giveaways. (I’m really hoping they make me a winner of one for writing this post! Maybe they will see it and “donate” the “DUDE” sweatshirt they are featuring—it would be totally cute on my son!)
Anyway, back to the post… When asked in what they look for in new style, Ian said, “We like fashion that nods to current and vintage style, is smart, not necessarily practical, but most importantly lets kids be kids.”
So, if you are a new designer looking for a product feature, I highly recommend shooting them an e-mail. Ian told me they are always looking for new designers and labels to feature. And if you are bored on your lunch break, I suggest checking them out! Just be careful… it gets addictive!
