Great post! I could not agree with you more. I'm all for marriage then babies. It's not old fashioned. And if you don't want a kid, birth control! It's practically free :)

I'm annoyed that the info about Amber was leaked as far as her salary. Kids don't get just how hard it is - now the salary just glamorizes it.

Hi Nicole,
This is a normal feeling. I had Alayna when I was 40. Most of my friends already had their children. I've always been behind the curve....their children were teens when Alayna was an infant, their children went to college when Alayna started school, etc. You will find that you can keep the old friends, but will also make some new ones. The really special friends will stay and be there forever...for those I am especially grateful!
PS: I know of a free babysitter. She would love to. She's had the babysitting course and all.

You are not alone. It is especially hard when you are the first amoungst your friends to have a child. They don't understand the changes it brings and they also seem to think having a child means that you are no longer available for them. I will let you know, on the bright side it does get better as they age. (both the children and the friends) I go out now that the kids are older at least 2 times a month. The babysitter thing is hard. The best thing I have found to do for that one is to swap babysitting services with friends, but if you said you don't have any that have kids yet that makes it hard.
